A Simple Guide
One of the biggest barriers to leading a group is figuring out how to structure your time together. This guide is meant to give you some imagination for what to do for a 90 minute meeting.
Mingle
10 Minutes
As people are arriving, greet them at the door (especially if someone is new). Have some snacks and time for people to casually connect.
Check In
20 Minutes
Have someone open in prayer. Have an ice breaker question ready to go. Check-in with peoples action steps from the last meeting.
Content
50 Minutes
Whether you are leading a Bible Study, listening to a speaker or dwelling a passage of Scripture; the goal is for people to hear from God and respond faithfully. After working through the content, go through the following questions, leaving a couple minutes of reflection for each question.
- What is the one thing that sticks out the most? (30 sec. each)
- What do you think God wants you to know about that? (90 sec. each)
- What would a faithful response to what God is revealing look like? (90 sec. each)
Pray
10 Minutes
Have people share prayer requests and pray together. Split into pairs or stay in a group, help people get comfortable praying together.
