Lad Lake is a charity that has been serving vulnerable youth for over 170 years. One of their programs is a youth residential treatment facility in Dousman. Nearly all of the Lad Lake youth in residential care have lived through multiple traumatic events such as neglect, abuse, witnessing violence, and most of these students struggle with mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. While Lad Lake students are able to benefit from a variety of services at the school, many of them are missing family support and need positive role models in their life.
Our Student Mentors Kingdom Community has come alongside students from the OASD for several years now. This is an opportunity to expand our mentoring into new areas. If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please join us on February 16th after the second service for around an hour. We’ll eat lunch together (please register so we have enough food), hear some more about the school, what the opportunity entails, and get a chance to ask questions as you discern whether or not this is somewhere God is inviting you to lean in
