Message Notes
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20

Bottom Line

We are to be disciples who make disciples.

1. Jesus sends us

A disciple is someone who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus and is committed to the mission of Jesus.

2. Jesus guides us

3. Jesus empowers us

Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, andsaid to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them Hishands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
John 20:19-20
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me inJerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into his glorious image.
2 Corinthians 3:18

Action Steps

Create some space this week and honestly ask yourself:

  • Am I following Jesus?
  • Am I being changed by Jesus?
  • Am I committed to make disciples like Jesus did?

Practical application tips:

  • Listen to The Jesus Way by Phil Wickham.
  • Throughout your day, catch some discipleship moments.
  • Capture them at the end of day.
  • Write a card/letter thanking someone who models Jesus.
  • Name the people in your sphere of influence that there may be an opportunity to disciple. Commit to prayer.
